Surf's up, Iowans. Mike Love and the Beach Boys return this spring to the heartland.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group plays May 8 at Stephens Auditorium in Ames and May 9 at the Orpheum Theatre in Sioux City.

Tickets to see the Beach Boys in Ames go on sale Friday at noon via ticketmaster.com; Sioux City tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. via Orpheumlive.com

In 2019, the Beach Boys tour with two members from its 1960s heyday: Love, a co-founder, and Bruce Johnston, who joined in 1965. Brian Wilson, the force behind much of the band's most iconic work, hasn't appeared live with the group since a one-off show in 2012.

More: Sorry, 'American Pie,' but the music didn't die in Clear Lake. Just ask the fans.

The Beach Boys perform about 150 times a year, a news release said, and last appeared in Des Moines in 2016 for a Civic Center performance.

The group penned a number of time-tested surf rock tunes, such as "Good Vibrations," "I Get Around," "Wouldn't It Be Nice" and "California Girls."

The shows come as part of the "Now & Then" tour. Find more information at TheBeachBoys.com or MikeLove.com
