Who's ready for some Cardi B, okurrr?!
The chart-topping "I Like It" and "Money" rap star plans to make her Des Moines debut May 3 at Wells Fargo Arena, a Friday night. Tickets to see the New York native go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. via Hy-VeeTix.com, the Wells Fargo Arena box office (233 Center St.) or by phone, at 844-55-HYVEE.
Capturing international fame in 2017 with breakout No. 1 Billboard hit "Bodak Yellow," the show plans to be Cardi B's first in the Hawkeye State.
With "Bodak Yellow," Cardi B became the first solo female rapper to land a No. 1 Billboard hit in nearly 20 years. She's since returned to No. 1 with 2018 summer smash "I Like It" and Maroon 5 collaboration "Girls Like You."
Cardi B released her debut full-length, "Invasion of Privacy," in April 2018; the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and landed at No. 6 on the year-end Billboard albums chart. The album topped year-end lists from Rolling Stone, Time and the Ringer.
A native of the Bronx, she's collaborated with Bruno Mars, Chance the Rapper, Migos and more.
"Invasion of Privacy" scored Cardi B five nominations for the upcoming Grammy Awards, including album of the year and record of the year (for "I Like It").
The star joins a 2019 lineup at Wells Fargo Arena that includes Blake Shelton (March 14), Weezer and the Pixies (March 28), Dave Matthews Band (May 14), Kenny Chesney (May 16), New Kids on the Block (June 9), Shawn Mendes (June 22), Ozzy Osbourne (June 30), Kiss (Sept. 3), Thomas Rhett (Sept. 6) and Carrie Underwood (Oct. 26).
