Zac Brown Band to headline upcoming Iowa State Fair Grandstand concert
Zac Brown is further expanding his interests outside of country music, announcing a new production deal with Howard T. Owens and Ben Silverman's Propagate Content.
Zac Brown and his three-time Grammy Award-winning group make an Iowa State Fair debut this summer.
The Zac Brown Band plays Aug. 11 at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand, a Sunday night. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Feb. 8 via iowastatefair.org, costing $70, $75 or $85 before fees and fair admission.
Popular for a country sound that dabbles in bluegrass and southern rock, the band returns to Iowa as part of the "The Owl Tour." Country songwriter Caroline Jones opens the show.
Zach Brown Band last played Des Moines in 2011, a show at Wells Fargo Arena.
“... fans can expect some new and unexpected sounds woven into the signature Zac Brown Band live music experience,” Brown said in a news release. “The owl holds special meaning for us and we look forward to sharing this with everyone.”
The group broke out in 2008 with No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay hit "Chicken Fried," since landing a total 13 songs on the top of the coveted country chart. Leading Zac Brown Band numbers include "Beautiful Drug," "Highway 20 Ride," "Keep Me In Mind" and "Knee Deep."
The band closed 2018 by releasing a new song, "Someone I Used To Know," co-written by pop star Shawn Mendes. Release date and track list for an upcoming full-length album plan to be released in the near future, a news release said.
"Both 'The Owl tour' and forthcoming album draw inspiration from the mythology and mystery surrounding the Great Horned Owl that can see perfectly in the night, serving as a guide when we need sight in even the darkest of moments," a news release said.
