Slipknot’s 'Tortilla Man' wears an actual tortilla live on stage
“This place is my life,” Slipknot co-founder and percussionist Shawn Crahan, or Clown as he is known on stage, said as he announced that the band will be playing at the fair for the first time next summer. The Des Moines Register
Many Slipknot fans have wondered for months about the identity of the band's new percussionist.
Nicknamed "Tortilla Man," the new guy posted an image to his Instagram page wearing on an actual tortilla on his face during a live show in Pennsylvania on Friday. According to the outlet Kerrang!, the tortilla looked as if it was made of corn.
One fan on Reddit believes they've guessed the mysterious drummer's identity. Reddit user Les_Connelly speculated that "Tortilla Man" is Michael Pfaff following an interview that guitarist Jim Root did with The Art And Span Show. Pfaff is a musician who previously played for the band Dirty Little Rabbits.
Here's what Connelly wrote on Reddit:
Jim recently said this about the new guy in a recent interview:
"He's a character, man. I didn't really know him very well before he started playing with us. But he's a hell of a musician, man. The guy is a world-class pianist; he's a great percussionist; he is schooled in music. He's not just a garage musician who came up and learned on his own. He obviously had natural ability, but he took it to another level and actually got a degree in music. So the guy is next level. Plus he's just out of his mind. I didn't think it was possible for anybody to match us. And I'll be standing there playing and all of a sudden I'll hear this thump next to me, and he'll have jumped down from his drum set. He's, like, next to me. And I'm, like, 'You're insane, dude. Your knees are gonna f---ing just be done.'"
And it got me thinking; maybe he is Michael Pfaff.
Michael Pfaff is a musician who was in a band with Shawn Crahan called Dirty Little Rabbits. He played organ and keyboards, and Shawn Crahan was the drummer. They had a very strong musical relationship and were the core of the group. They were even introduced to each other by Sid Wilson (the DJ from Slipknot). He is a similar build, height and bald. Check out the videos below; I think he even moves like the new guy.

"Tortilla Man" was introduced in the group's video single for "Unsainted." Back in May, when Kerrang! inquired about who "Tortilla Man" was, Slipknot's Shawn "Clown" Crahan said that it's nobody's business and it would be up to the fans to make up their minds.
The group's lead vocalist Corey Taylor also discussed the band's new member during an interview with Kerrang!: "He's doing great. He's a great dude and is killing it, man. It's kind of cool," Taylor said. "It's brought this whole new energy to everybody as well. So it's a lot of fun to watch him."
