5 ways to enjoy spring weather in Des Moines

I have had no complaints about the weather in Des Moines lately.

After months snow and sleet, I welcome spring and sunshine in with open arms.

I mean — just look at our beautiful city. Doesn't this make you want to get outside?

And another, just because. I feel warm just looking at this one.

Here are 5 things to do in Des Moines when it's just so darn nice out.

Enjoy an Iowa brew

Whether you prefer sipping in a brewerytaproom or on your porch — when you're done, cast your ballot for your favorite Iowa brew in our Beer Brackets.

Dine al fresco

Warm weather = patio season. There are so many great patios to dine on in Des Moines. Need help finding one? Just check out our interactive mobile dining map.

Go for a run

You don't have to get all dressed up like the Leprechaun Chase runners, but get your hustle on in anticipation of the many upcoming 5K and 10K races.

Stroll while you shop

Warm weather means getting out of the mall and heading to a local shopping district like Valley Junction, the East Village, West Glen Town Center and more.

Hop on a bike

Central Iowa has bike trails galore! Whether you're training for RAGBRAI or any other bike ride, spring time is the best time to bust out your wheels.
