Where do you find style inspiration?

I turn to fashion magazines, online bloggers and travel for fashion inspiration.

What's the one thing you can't leave the house without?

Definitely sunglasses. I'm obsessed and own way too many pairs, but I think they can instantly spice up a simple outfit.

Who's your style icon?

My new favorite: Amal Clooney. She is effortlessly chic!

What trend do you hate most at the moment?

I am not a huge fan of the long denim skirts. I keep seeing the trend come up in magazines and I cannot stand it.

What's your favorite store?

Internationally, I would say TopShop. In this area, I really love Aimee.

On a scale of 1-10 how fashionable would you rate DSM? Why?

Des Moines is at a 7. It is continually improving its fashion scene, but needs more diverse boutiques to shop from. Right now, all of the fashion forward boutiques are at a very high price point.

What are you most excited for this fall?

Sweater weather! I'm most excited to get comfy fabrics in the classically rich colors that the fall always brings. You can't go wrong with a pair of destroyed jeans, a plush sweater and some booties.

What's your go-to food spot in Des Moines?

Django. I take all my friends and family there when they come to visit.

What store does Des Moines need?

Des Moines needs more mid-priced boutiques. There are many high-end boutiques, but they need to tap into the amazing student and post grad population. East Village has such a cool vibe and could really use a clothing/accessories store that has great style at a budget-friendly price point.
