Jay Wang will open his fourth metro-area Wasabi sushi restaurant in July.
The newest Wasabi will debut at 8705 Chambery Blvd., Johnston, in the space formerly occupied by Noodle Zoo.
Wang said the Johnston Wasabi will offer the same fresh sushi as the other three restaurants plus expanded Japanese ramen and other noodle offerings. There will be a full bar and “good wine selections,” he said.
The inside of the restaurant is being remodeled and Wang hopes to open after July 4.
His first restaurant, Wasabi Chi, opened in 2011 on Douglas Avenue in Des Moines. Wang followed that with the downtown Des Moines Wasabi Tao in 2013 and the Waukee Wasabi in Waukee in 2016. He also operates Teriyaki Boys at Outlets of Des Moines in Altoona.
The Johnston Wasabi will be open Monday through Saturday and closed on Sunday.
